Ms. Colleen Tanner Gunn

Colleen Tanner Gunn is the Artistic Director of Miss Colleen's Elite Dancentre. Mrs Gunn is listed in the National Directory of Who's Who of Dance Educators in New York, The Continental Who's Who for top professionals in dance education, as well as a member of the National Association for Professional Woman. Mrs Tanner- Gunn recently was nominated to be a part of Cambrides Who's Who in executive professionals for New York State for 2008 and 2009. Miss Colleen was also appointed to be and represent Rockville Centre for young professional executives for the year 2009.

Colleen Tanner Gunn's career outlines a fascinating journey in the world of dance and the performing arts. She has a BA in Dance/Performance from the Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Immediately after graduation, Miss Colleen accepted her first job with The Circle of Dance Repetory Company as a principal dancer.

Soon after graduation, Miss Colleen was asked to contribute to the New York State Curriculum for public schools. She taught dance education in the Sachem School District. She started accepting projects choreographing for The Rosie O'Donnell Show, NBC television, ABC television, Disney Inc., J- Records with Clive Davis, Costa Cruise line, and a permanent position choreographing and dancing for Phat Cat Records and DJG Productions. In addition Miss Colleen was choreographing Off-Broadway productions with New York City writer Mike Albo all which received favorable reviews from the Backstage Performing Arts News and the Village Voice News. "Colleen Tanners choreography is fresh and innovative with a real MTV kick to it!". Some of Miss Colleen's most memorable times were when she was working side by side with many vocal artists such as Reina, LFO, Ashley Parker Angel from MTV's There and Back, O-Town, Nick Lachey, 98 Degrees, Jesika, Delsena, Mighty, and C&C Music Factory.

Recently Miss Colleen has worked privately training with Rockville Centre's own "MATTHEW NOLAN" from the new NBC reality TV show "YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT". Matthew is just one of many who utilized Miss Colleen to prepare for his upcoming TV debut.

Miss Colleen Tanner grew up in Rockville Centre and has been teaching in RVC for the last 18 years. Miss Colleen is the Director of the Elite Competitive Dance Team where her choreography has won many regional and national awards.

Miss Colleen's career has been entrenched in the education of children and also professionally grounded in the "WORKING" world of dance. She firmly believes that learning should be fun and that all students should be a part of the process.

Miss Megan Lininger

Miss Megan Lininger was born and raised in Kansas City, MO, Megan Lininger received her BFA in Dance from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. While at Stephens, Megan had the honor of studying with such prestigious artists as Deborah Carr, Jim May, Karen Baker, Catherine Kingsly and Jan Miller. Upon graduating Megan moved to NYC to pursue her career as a dancer and choreographer. She is trained in the standards of modern, ballet, jazz and tap; as well as diverse forms such as Flamenco, Irish Step, African, Russian Character and East Indian. Megan was the assistant choreographer to Tricia Brouk for "Drift" in the New York Musical Theatre Festival. While continuing to study with various teachers at studios such as Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, she hopes to build a name for herself as a performer and choreographer. Megan is thrilled to be a part of Elite Dancentre and hopes to instill her passion for dance in her students.

Mrs. Colleen Hawks

Mrs. Colleen Hawks lives in New York City and is married to actor Jeff Pierce. She originally hails from California's Central Valley. She is a former California's Junior Miss, and also Miss Stanislaus County. Colleen's Broadway debut was in the smash hit SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE where she performed the role originated by DeLee Lively. She was also in the smash hit Broadway show THE BOY FROM OZ (soprano of the TRIO) starring Hugh Jackman and most recently in the Musical as Fairy Godmother and the Voice of the Bluebird.

After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree she moved to L.A. where she performed for Disney, playing such singing roles as "Snow White", "Cinderella" and "Ariel (The Little Mermaid)" both on TV and stage (including tours to London, Paris, Munich, Holland, and China). She has lived in Japan, Korea and Holland. She has also traveled worldwide performing on cruise ships; from the Amazon in Brazil, to Mexico, Canada, the South Pacific, Australia, Hong Kong, and Alaska.

Colleen's Off-Broadway credits include Manhattan Theatre Club's THE WILD PARTY by Andrew Lippa starring Taye Diggs, DR. SEX (Phoebe), and a principal role in SHAKE THAT THING! (The Girl). Other NYC credits include principal roles in HURRY HURRY HOLLYWOOD! (Polly Sue – also at MTC) , A QUEER CAROL (Ghost of Christmas Past) and DELPHI OR BUST (Zircony). Broadway workshops include THE BOY FROM OZ, SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, and RUBIROSA.

In NYC opera productions Colleen has performed in CANDIDE at the New York City Opera starring John Cullum and Judy Kaye, an Amoricae Production of THE MAGIC FLUTE (Papagena) and BABES in TOYLAND (Jill) at Avery Fisher Hall.

National Tours include CRAZY FOR YOU (Polly Baker), and SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (Kathy Seldon); also International Tours of GREASE (Sandy); THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES (Mr. Ziegfeld's Favorite); and THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Mabel).

Colleen has been seen in a National Shredded Wheat ad campaign and her Feature Film credits include THE GURU with Heather Graham and Marissa Tomei and THE NARROWS. She has been featured on CBS's As the World Turns and both LAWAND ORDER: C.I. and S.V.U.

Colleen enjoys teaching. She regularly choreographs for the Bronx High School of Science's Spring Musical and is the Musical Theatre Department Director for Rutgers Summer Acting Boot Camp.

Miss Lauren Laperle

Miss Lauren Laperle TITLE HOLDER AND DANCE MASTERS OF AMERICA WNNER is a Massachusetts native where she began her training with the Boston Ballet, NYC Ballet, and Kathy Taylor. Her love and devotion for the art of dance made her a title winner with Dance Masters of America. After receiving the honor of Miss Dance USA and Miss Dance of New England, Miss Lauren continued to win several national dance competitions as well as full lay out ads in Dance Magazine and billboards with Capezio Dance wear. At the age of 17 and many professional jobs already under her belt Miss Lauren decided to further her dance education at the University of Massachusettes recieving her BFA in Dance and graduating in just 3 years. Her impressive dance career continued with working for Tony Award winning choreographer John Selya of Moving Out.

Being a principle dancer in venues such as American Ballet Theatre, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Eleanor Coleman Dance Ensemble in NYC has made Miss Lauren an expert in her field and a strong asset to The Elite Dancentre. Miss Lauren is currently still performing in several different dance companies in New York City. Miss Lauren will be teaching Ballet, Tap and Jazz at the Elite Dancentre as well as Co- Directing The Award Winning EDC Competitve Dance Team.

Miss Jenna Carey

Miss Jenna a native of Rockville Centre has been dancing since the young age of three. Miss Jenna has trained under the artistic eyes of Miss Colleen and Miss Lauren over the last 15 years. Holding a BA from Hofstra University Miss Jenna can only hope she will fulfill the lives of children the way hers was. Miss Jenna can be seen teaching Combination classes, Intro to Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap Classes here at Elite Dancentre.

Miss Jennifer Moskowitz

Jennifer Moskowitz is originally from Newark, MD. She began her adventure in dance at the age of 9 and never looked back. This journey took her to Philadelphia, where she received her BFA in Jazz/Theater Dance from The University of the Arts; training with inspiring teachers and creative choreographers; Ronen Koresh, Beth Iguchi, Milton Meyers, Faye Snow, Pat Thomas, Gabe Masson, Wayne St. David, Andrew Pap, Carole Slaroff, Mia Michaels, and Cathy Young are just the tip of the iceberg. Upon graduating, her dreams led her to Los Angeles where she performed with Winifred R. Harris Between Lines for two seasons. During her time in Los Angeles she discovered that not only did she love performing but she was passionate about passing on what she had learned over the years; and so began the next big adventure. Jennifer continued to perform and teach in LA until returning to her hometown in 2001. She took the next three years and concentrated on honing her own style of teaching. Then, once again, she followed her dreams and let them lead her to New York. While in New York, she performed with Emancia Dance Company as a soloist, working as the rehearsal assistant and a guest choreographer for two seasons in addition to a full teaching schedule. Ms. Moskowitz has found her creative journey leading her from New York to Florida and back again in the last few years concentrating on teaching and choreographing. Her choreography has been preformed in New York at Steps on Broadway and in DUMBO at White Wave, in Florida her competitive choreography won the Best Choreography Award at OnStage Dance Competition for Wild Things in 2011. She is excited to be back in New York and sharing her passion with Miss Colleen's Elite Dancentre.
